Dutch Baby in the morning for breakfast, quite possibly one of the easiest breakfast treat to make in the morning, especially those who aren’t morning types and are too lazy to make breakfast or not a breakfast person~which to be honest I am a morning person and breakfast person~but if  I dont have my coffee in the Morning~I can be quite crabby~and my possibly hurt you in the process if coffee is not being made in the morning or handed to me~hahahaha~you have been warned hehehehe *smiles innocently* anyways whether your not a morning person or a breakfast person this light, crispy and thin-like pancake will give you a reason to wake up in the morning have  breakfast and LOVE IT too because~its easy and Versatile~ and it bakes in the oven for 20 minutes, I mean no flipping and wishing that you didn’t burn  the other side of the pancake I mean really REALLY worth making, finishing it off with a dust of powdered sugar on top or add your favorite fruits, or just go simple with maple syrup~trust me morning person or not, breakfast person or not, you will love these dutch baby. Drooool worthy in the morning

Dutch Baby

Yield: 1-2

Ingredients

  • 3/4 Cup all purpose flour (Bleached or unbleached)
  • 1 Teaspoon of granulated sugar
  • 1/2 Teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 Cup of well shaken butter milk or regular milk ( what ever you have on hand)
  • 3 Large Eggs
  • 2 Tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 Teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 Teaspoon of Orange or lemon zest(optional)
  • 1/2 Teaspoon almond extract(optional)
  • 1/2-1 Cup of slice fruit of your choice(optional)
  • your Favorite Compote(optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 450 Degrees. Place butter on a 10 inch non stick skillet or cast Iron, place pan in the oven, making sure the melted butter coats all of the pan. In a medium bowl combine all the ingredients well with a whisk, take the hot pan out and pour batter in the pan and bake for 20 minutes, till brown on the edges and puffed up, let it sit for 2 minutes( it will deflate a bit) dust with powdered sugar, serve hot with your favorite toppings or maple syrup.
