Strawberry Blueberry Yogurt Cake

You know Summer has arrived when you wake up in the morning and its 85-100 Degrees out and the house is just radiating with heat~I mean seriously Spring has sprung ,came and gone, and now its Summer time. I must say Summer came fast and well it is time to put away my sweet chocolatey tooth  and take out some of my fresh, light and Summer inspired recipes for the upcoming Summer months ahead. I gotta be honest I hate summer~I always have hated summer time because its FREAKING HOT~SEVERELY HOT~I am not a big fan~I like winter and fall~Cool weather, dreary skies, wearing a jacket or sweater~I am a fall person but I did promise my baby that I will embrace this summer and I will keep that promise. This weekend was Mothers Day and my baby and I had plans for a BB-Q in Newporort~ahhh Newport~ I love Newport~the weather there is always perfect~I’m jealous~My Baby’s Mom ( She is The sweetest) and his family, we had a nice Out-door BB-Q Gathering and It was so much fun to catch up with my hubby’s Brother and his lovely wife ( Mary I love the jam you gave me it is soo Soo freaking good) and their kid~splashing around in the pool, for the Occasion I thought I should make something fresh for dessert and so I made this Delicious~Like seriously Delicious~and full of Fruity Berry Freshness Strawberry & Blueberry Yogurt Cake. Ok I am warning you now~like right now if you make this recipe~just be prepared because everyone~I mean EVERYONE will love it~will devour it in seconds~it is that good~It made me happy that everyone loved it soo much that at the end of the day it was GONE. I mean that is the first time that has happened. My baby, Ryan~Mary~Ilona~William they all had thirds~ while I had seconds. It is VERY VERY VERY VERY Delicious~its fruity full of strawberries and blueberries with fresh orange and lemon zest~This dessert is springtime at its best- at it’s peak~it recalls the breeze of spring with all the flavors~I mean  its BERRY delicious LOL( Just did a two Thumbs up lol) so if you can manage make two lol~One Just in case they want more~and I will say this~this is now ONE of my Favorite Summertime Desserts to prepare and I kid you not~I will be making this Again this summer~( I am notorious for making One good dish and not making it again LOL) Lets say another BBQ in my house this time hehe. Make my VERY FULL OF BERRY STRAWBERRY & BLUEBERRY YOGURT CAKE~NOT JUST FOR MOTHERS DAY BUT FOR YOUR SUMMER BB-Q GATHERING OR WHAT EVER OCCASION YOU HAVE~ your family will love it~like mine did~


Strawberry & Blueberry Yougurt Cake

Prep Time: 15 minutes

Cook Time: 1 hour

Total Time: 1 hour, 15 minutes

Yield: 12


  • 2 Sticks of Unsalted butter, soften
  • 2 Cups of Sugar
  • 3 Eggs
  • Zest of 1 Orange
  • Zest of 1 Lemon
  • Juice of Half a Orange
  • Juice of Half a lemon
  • 2 1/2 Cup of All Purpose Flour, divided
  • 1/2 Teaspoon of baking soda
  • 1/2 Teaspoon of Salt
  • 4 Oz of Fresh Strawberries diced
  • 4 Oz of Fresh Blueberries
  • 1 Tablespoons of lemon/orange juice
  • 8 oz of Plain Greek Yogurt
  • Lemon/Orange glaze
  • 1 Cup of Powdered Sugar
  • 1-3 tablespoons of lemon/orange juice


  1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.
  2. Butter and Flour a Bundt pan ( 10-15 Cup) Set aside. Dice the Strawberries and transfer to a bowl, add blueberries and 1/4 cup flour, set aside. In another Bowl combine flour, baking soda, lemon/orange zest and salt, mix then set aside. In stand mixer with the Paddle attachment cream butter and sugar together till light and fluffy, add the eggs one at a time incorporating well, add 1 tablespoon of lemon/orange juice ( mix lemon juice and orange juice together in juicer and save the rest for the glaze) on a low speed alternate the greek yogurt and flour mixing just until its incorporated. Add the Berries by hand folding them into the batter making sure to not over mix. Pour onto prepared pan and tap the pan on counter a few time to make sure its even batter through out the surface. Bake for 60 minutes or until a toothpick in the center comes out clean. Let it cool on a wired rack for 20 minutes then turn out on a wired wrack and cool completely.
  3. ( Note: You can let the cake cool on the pan completely then turn it out~this is how I did it because we had a movie to get to so I was not able to wait 20 minutes to to turn the cake out~the yogurt cake came out fine and was not dry at all)
  4. Lemon/Orange Glaze
  5. In a bowl mix together 1 cup of powdered sugar and 1-2 Tablespoons of lemon/orange juice to your desired consistency, spread over the cooled yogurt cake and serve
  6. warning: This cake is severely good that you will not have any left overs once it is serve. you have been warned
