Cinnamon Swirl Coffee Cake Loaf

Yesterday I had a pretty Off day~I could not sit on my couch and on my Laptop to compost and share a recipe I had made~it came suddenly and I felt pretty BLAH!!! all day I was wondering around the house just trying to get out of the funk and when I get into this funk I usually stay in the kitchen~I dont know why but the kitchen helps get me out of this BLAH!!! I was having~I was leaning over my counter top looking outside the window~staring into my backyard~I can see a nice breeze going because our small palm trees are swaying in the wind and at the same time I am watching a movie on my instant queue~No Strings Attached with Natalie Portman and Ashton Cutcher on my laptop~and in the middle of all this I herd a click in my head~It was loud and clear~I HAVE TO BAKE SOMETHING~ and out of my need to get out of this weird funk I was having came this gorgeous breakfast dish that I am adding into my arsenal of Cinnamon Dishes that I love. This Loaf is absolutely delicious~moist~a bit tangy~a perfect blend of cinnamon and sugar and its not all that sweet~I mean if your having a coffee cake loaf for breakfast too much sugar is something to avoid right? and this has the right amount~and like I always say you can not go wrong with a coffee cake for breakfast~I mean just alone on the name~Coffee Cake~you need to have a cup of coffee with this and coffee to me is a very important VITAL  part of my morning rituals.

It Is mouth Watering and My kitchen Smelled like Cinnamon for hours~and well It help me get out of my funk~I thank this Gem of a Coffee Loaf Cake for that and the movie No Strings Attached~that movie is pretty funny and pretty good~Liz Meriwether wrote a funny and very touching script and now is writing one of my Favorite tv shows New girl~which I will be looking forward to and watching on this upcoming Fall.

~So Make this for breakfast or for an afternoon snack even dessert it is a perfect a loaf to have on any occasion~SO SO SO GOOD~


Cinnamon Swirl Coffee Cake Loaf With Cream Cheese Glaze

Prep Time: 15 minutes

Cook Time: 1 hour

Total Time: 1 hour, 15 minutes


  • Cinnamon Swirl
  • 1/3 Cup Sugar
  • 2 Teaspoon Saigon Cinnamon
  • Batter
  • 1 3/4 Cup All purpose flour
  • 1 1/4 Teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 Teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 Teaspoon salt
  • 1 Stick( 8 Tablespoon) butter, unsalted, soften
  • 3/4 Cup granulated sugar
  • 2 Large eggs
  • 2 Teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • 1/2 Cup of Buttermilk
  • 1/2 Cup of sour cream (Greek yogurt can be substituted)
  • 2 Tablespoon of butter unsalted, melted
  • Cream Cheese Glaze
  • 2 oz of Soften Cream Cheese
  • 1 Cup of Powdered Sugar
  • 2-3 Tablespoons milk
  • 1/2 Teaspoon of vanilla extract


  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Butter a 9x5 inch loaf pan and line with parchment paper. Set aside.
  2. In a bowl combine Sugar and 2 teaspoon of Saigon Cinnamon and mix together.Set aside.
  3. Sift the flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt together in a bowl.Set aside.
  4. In a stand mixer(Or hand mixer) fitted with the paddle attachment beat Sugar and butter together till light and fluffy.
  5. In medium speed add the eggs one at a time beating well after each addition, then add the vanilla.
  6. In low speed add the sour cream and buttermilk, add the flour and mix until just combined.
  7. Spoon half of the batter on the prepared pan fallowing by the cinnamon swirl, add the rest of the batter and the cinnamon swirl on top, then pour the melted butter and with a clean knife swirl batter a few times. Bake in the oven for an 1 hour. Let it cook on a cooking rack for 15 minutes then lift with the parchment paper hanging on the sides and let it cool completely.
  8. Cream Cheese Glaze
  9. In a bowl combine all the ingredients together to your consistency and drizzle over slice Coffee cake when ready to serve.
  10. Refrigerate the left glaze afterwards. Serve Coffee Cake warm or Room temperature ( I personally like it warm for breakfast~I pop it in the microwave for a few seconds then drizzle the glaze over~Pure Heaven on a plate~)
