Hawiian Marinated Grilled Chicken

Well its 2014~yay~we survive another year and its now been a year since I started this blog~I am very very thankful for everything in my life and grateful for all the support I had into starting this blog~I hope that those of you who have made my recipes enjoyed them with families and friends as much as I do because I think cooking and baking is all about sharing food for those who are close to you and the once you hold dear.

This Hawaiian inspired recipe is delicious and exotic~well Americanized exotic hahaha~well I mean if you really and truly want and taste real authentic Hawaiian food, you would have to go to Hawaii for that but this will do~I mean sometimes we just need to imagine traveling to exotic locales in the kitchen to break out of the routine  dinner and going to restaurants~and imagining a vacation, the food can help sometimes to make the everyday dinner meal seam more fun and exciting. Its delicious  and easy~one of the things I love about this recipe is its a marinade~you don’t have to use chicken~use what ever meat you like~ just toss it all in and marinate in the fridge overnight~it has pineapple juice, five spice and even mint~yes~so hopefully these are the flavors of what Hawaii has in store if I ever travel there someday with my husband haha~serve with rice or salad~what ever you like~this dish is versatile~


Hawaiian Marinated Grilled Chicken

Prep Time: 5 minutes

Cook Time: 10 minutes

Total Time: 15 minutes

Yield: 4


  • 1/2 Cup pineapple juice
  • 1/4 Cup canola oil
  • 2 Tablespoon soy sauce
  • 2 Tablespoon dijon mustard
  • 1 Tablespoon grated ginger
  • 1 Tablespoon honey
  • 2 Teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 1/2 Tablespoon chopped fresh mint
  • 2 Teaspoon Chinese 5 spice powder
  • 2 pounds of chicken breast ( any meats you like)


  1. Mix all the ingredients (except meat) in a bowl, reserve 1/4 of marinade. Cover and refrigerate overnight.
  2. Grill on BB-Q till the meat is no longer pink and cooked through.
  3. Sauce: In a small sauce pan add the reserve marmalade boil on high heat and reduce until slightly thick, pour over meat and serve with rice or Salad. Enjoy.
